More Than a Round of Golf
When I started Women’s Adventures in Golf, I wasn’t trying to build something big. I was trying to build something welcoming.
I wanted women to feel comfortable saying yes to golf — to get outside, unwind, laugh at a missed shot, celebrate a great one, and feel like they belonged from the first tee.
That feeling hasn’t changed.
In 2025, our second season, we moved all of our rounds to 8 a.m. shotgun starts. Starting together meant finishing together — and that simple shift deepened the camaraderie. Women shared meals, stories, and encouragement. The social time became just as important as the scorecard.
That season, 266 women played 532 rounds. Since 2024, 487 women have joined WAG, and together we’ve raised over $10,300 for local charities supporting women and families.
But what I’m most proud of is what happened midway through last season.
We introduced a simple idea: Bring a Friend, Make a Memory.
It was an invitation — if this feels good, share it.
After launching that promotion, 25% of the women who joined WAG were brand new players who came because a friend reached out and brought them along.
That tells me WAG is more than an event. It’s something women want to share.
For 2026, our shotgun rounds remain at the heart of the season — that shared start, that shared finish, that time to connect afterwards.
And this year, we’re adding something intentional alongside them.
On July 8 at Baxter Creek, our Dealing Divas event will run as a nine-hole tee time format. In our first season, all of our rounds were nine holes, and that flexibility helped reduce barriers for many women.
Bringing it back for this event gives players choice — whether they want the full 18-hole experience or nine relaxed holes and an afternoon together.
The goal has always been simple: create space for women to play in a way that feels right for them.
To the players who trust us with their time.
To the sponsors — all friends of WAG — who believe in this vision.
To the volunteers who show up season after season.
Thank you.
Season three feels strong. It feels thoughtful. And most of all, it feels like community.
I can’t wait to see who joins us this year — and who you bring with you.
With appreciation,
Susan
